Pledging to “visit my family sober next week,” war photographer Yasu guzzles vodka and passes out. Hurrying to his side, manga artist Yuki reassures him, “It’s OK, you’re not dead yet.” The couple married and had two kids, but divorced because of Yasu’s alcohol dependency. Exhausted by the cycle of drunken violence and illness, Yasu reluctantly enters a rehab hospital. There he finds unexpected solace among the quirky medical staff and eccentric fellow patients. Supported by his family’s love and Yuki’s determination to face reality, Yasu steadily recovers, but another disease lurks within… – Tokyo International Film Festival
