OK, so let me get this straight. If you have a father and brother in the NYPD and your regular drug use qualifies you as having “special knowledge” about a drug case, you can become a deputy NY police officer, you’ll even be armed and taken on a raid. Hmmmm. I’m all for suspending belief while watching movies but having to force yourself to do so is asking a bit much of the viewer of a contemporary cop movie. It had a distinctly made-for-TV feel to it.
