Born 1947, Danmark. Composer, song-writer, film director. Attended film school in Prague. Programme director for a number of years at DR TV. While his works from the eighties and nineties brought him a large Danish audience, they also brought him international renown. Kragh-Jacobsen is one of the Dogme brothers, in the company of Trier, Vinterberg and Levring.
Kragh-Jacobsen’s children’s classic »Gummi-Tarzan«/»Rubber Tarzen« (1981) was a winner at Moscow, Berlin and Gijon. »Skyggen af Emma«/»Emma’s Shadow« (1988) and »Drengene fra Sankt Petri«/»The Boys from St. Petri« (1991) were also successful on the festival circuit, while »Øen i fuglegaden«/»The Island on Bird Street« (1997) received numerous accolades at festivals, including Berlin.
