Yes, Woody Allen regretted the way this turned out, and yes, the ending is a pointless mess. That being said, I thought it was great, ridiculous fun. Gosh, it was even witty at times. O'Toole, Allen, and especially Sellers all put on their silly hats and I was laughing out loud during every scene. A lot of people find this one a drag though. To each his own, I guess.
