thank you. someone that agrees with me. finally! it's a whore made out of bore.
De visual magnífico, de argumento estupendo, Jonze discute a infância como raras vezes se viu no cinema.
The last time that I saw this film was back in 2009, when it was still in cinemas. I remember it being very tear-jerking towards the end for me, so I've been kind of nervous about watching it again. But, the weird thing is that I've retained every single bit of this film in my memory, long after I first saw it. That's the sign of brilliant film-making right there.
I prefer my Wild Things with less psychosis. And my symbolism to be delivered with something more subtle than a sledgehammer.
Dark, violent, disturbing, ambiguous. All the things you want in a kids' movie. OK - so not really a kids movie. What did you expect from Spike Jonze? This is a masterful expansion of the story; beautifully realized, with lots to chew on for the thoughtful viewer.
Great OST, sound editing and also a great perspective until it becames annoying, right after 20minutes of watching it. BORING. It's oh, so boring... boring...
Had more fun watching the making of to be honest! Very sweet how the set was basically a playground for the child actors and film crews kids.
The bit at the end where the mum is just watching him and barely keeping her eyelids open cause she's so tired but still can't look away from her little son safe and home again :')
Where the Wild Things Are Emo Hipster Douchebags. If your childhood was like this, I'm sorry, you're childhood really sucked! Jonze spends too much time on the disappointment and despair of childhood. He never captures childlike wonder, amazement, or joy. Very negative, depressing, and repetitive.
Are you serious? This movie is filled with moments of awe and moments of wonder. The scene where Carol shows Max his perfect world stands out for me. And I am sorry dear sir but some children actually do come from broken homes and have single parents that are having a rough time. Just because a movie takes childhood seriously doesn't make it Emo.
Gotta say: the second time didn't hit as hard as the first one. Still, it seems almost impossible not to get touched by the beautiful images and great soundtrack by Karen O. A child story for adults or an adult movie for kids?!
Saw that Movie and I just loved it!! IMHO it is a Masterpiece perfectly celebrating the childhood and the frailty of it. Fabolously directed with superb special effects it just blew me away. Unfortunately few people besides me seem to like it....
