'You know so much, but you don't know anything at all.' A film with a great universality about it, dealing with great issues through small situations.

I really liked the characters in this movie. It wasn't so much about the plot as it was about the characters and how they developed. This is my first Bergman movie and I plan on seeing more.

this film is simply phenomenal, sjostrom is fantastic as are all of bergman's troupe as usual. i've seen it 3-4 times but what's strange is i used to think of it upon recollection as the memory-nostaglic-past parts being not as seperate from the present-reality but they are quite seperate which surprised me when i watched it this time, phenomenal film...

I've grown very tired of films spelling out their symbolism to me, as though a film should be a logic problem instead of a tapestry or a piece of music. Sjostrom, however, still devastates one's heart. Grade: C+.

Victor Sjöström steals Bergman's thunder.

Why does this film not have 5 stars? What there's not enough "action"? Are those pesky subtitles too hard to follow?

An old man dealing with his last days. But in reality it's goes beyond that. Like many of us, me included it's a look back on missed opportunities to love, to enjoy life. Every character in this man's life hates him or puts up with him,yet Van Sydow's characterization of him shows a warm and gentle man whose virtues and kindness are easily seen by strangers but not by the ones he loves. And sadly it's his fault.

My first Bergman (do I get a badge for this), and I loved it. It matches a lot of my sensibilities, which probably isn’t a good thing, but it’s still a brilliant film. Legendary director Sjöström is Bergman’s star, and he gives the best performance the role could offer. The pacing and cinematography are incredible as well.

A relaxed, moving film that ranks only behind Persona among my favorite Bergman films.

Finally caught up with this one. Great script by Bergman and a masterful performance by former director Victor Sjostrom. A man on a journey to be honoured for his vocation winds up revisiting places and memories of his past recognizing the mistakes and misjudgments in his personal life. Very good film but prefer films like Persona, Fanny, Marriage and Wolf.

A bittersweet and nostalgic journey down memory lane. One of the best road movies ever made and Bergman's warmest and most heartfelt film

I was often reminded of Dickens' A Christmas Carol while watching the film. I'd say it's my favourite twist on this type of self-reflective story. The first dream is a stand-alone short film that I'd watch over and over again.

Dealing with a lifetime of struggles at the dusk of one's existence seems like one of the most devastating tasks you could embrace, yet Mr. Borg does it with sheer grace and tenderness. To me, this is the perfect introductory film to Mr. Bergman's brilliant career.

One of the most daunting films i ever saw, Bergman is always the master of recognizing human struggles and behavior and charmingly bring that up to his films. Wild Strawberries is all about that, and also a captivating-top notch performance of Victor Sjöström which also the tour de force of this timeless masterpiece
