Synopsis

Misogynist peer and determined bachelor, Lord Terence Datchett, is perturbed by the arrival of French film star Colette Marly, especially when she seems to inadvertently ruin his evening out. When Datchett reads that Colette is ‘bored with men’ and seeking only quite seclusion in England, the landed gentleman suspects it is a publicity stunt. He sets himself up as a guinea pig by posing as an estate agent and offering Marly the haven of his immense estate in the countryside, and then sets out to prove a point by courting her.

Together with his pithy butler, Jameson, Datchet engages in a battle of wits and numerous botched schemes to seduce Colette, but ultimately she proves that she is sincere and only wishes to be alone. When Colette discovers Datchett’s deception, she decides to teach him a lesson. —Britmovie.co.uk
