Synopsis

In 1959, teenage Maddy (Aleksa Palladino) begins the first romance in her life with Will, a carnival worker. Meanwhile her widowed roommate, Claire (Joely Richardson), is pregnant by Rick, a garage owner whom she doesn’t love or want to marry. The women in this coming-of-age story face choices of pregnancy, abortion, career and loyalty in times that weren’t as simple as history books remember.
