Actually, indeed does the name of the film XXY have to do with the topic of intersex. (Something mentioned in an earlier comment.)
XXY are the sex chromosomes that hermaphrodites have. Females genetically have XX chromosomes, and males have the XY. Hermaphrodites have both female and male sex chromosomes.
I think this is a very good movie for touching base on a very sensitive topic so successfully. I don’t remember seeing or having heard of a movie made about the topic of hermaphroditism before. The director is a young woman—I am curious to see her other works.

Are we really who others think we are? Do we need to be ashamed of ourselfs because of the naturality that we dont have influence on to? Can family help with develping personal identity or demolish it? I think this movie touches really nicely and deeply all of this selfidentity topics and how can inviorment remark it. The topic is brilliant, it’s not so common but truly worth talking about. Some of the things also bothered me, for instance, all that depretion that i felt in the air constantly until the end of the movie, when most of the minds opens up. Was the end of the movie the end? Well, it was ending of one poit for sure, but just the begining of another. Not perfect ten, but sure worth watching and talkin’ about.
