Jan and his wife are mugged one night at a train station by a pair of youngsters. The kids make off with Karen’s handbag. Jan chases them and finally manages to corner one of the boys between the railway tracks. They start to fight and Jan pushes his opponent away. The boy stumbles onto the tracks and is overrun by a fright train. As there are no apparent witnesses Jan decides to continue as if nothing had happened. But a mysterious stranger starts making threats to Jan and his family. His well ordered middle class life is showing an unmistakable crack. Mistrust, secrets and distance become commonplace in the family. Jan didn’t even confide in Karen because he thought to protect her and his son. This was his cardinal mistake because soon Karen is drawn deeply into his unsolved conflicts. When Jan finds out who the stranger threatening them is, it becomes a game of all or nothing. Davon willst Du nichts wissen is a thriller, which turns a seemingly mundane story into a dramatic race for moral survival – gripping and highly contemporary. –Oldenburg Film Festival
