Synopsis

Youth in Revolt is an outrageous and heartwarming tale of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera), and his quest to win the heart of Sheeni (Portia Doubleday) and hopefully lose his virginity along the way. The film is based on C.D. Payne’s cult-hit novel of the same name, directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl) and features an all-star ensemble cast including Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Jean Smart, Ari Graynor, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis and Mary Kay Place. —tiff.net

I have a weakness for coming of age comedy films, so I tend to be a little biased towards them. Loved Michael Cera's performance, and absolutely fell in love with Portia Doubleday's Sheeni. It's one of those films that you should watch not so much expecting to laugh out loud but rather to have a tender chuckle.

With a cast like that, I have to admit I expected a bit more. Solid 2 star movie though.
