Synopsis

An expert at creating the finest in haute couture, Yves Saint Laurent is one of the fashion world’s most celebrated designers. This documentary takes an in-depth look at St. Laurent’s life via interviews with his mother, his partner Pierre Berge, friend Loulou de la Falaise and fan Lee Radziwill. From age 3 (when he noted to his aunt that her shoes and dress did not match) to his retirement in 2002, St. Laurent has enjoyed tremendous success.

David Teboul

David Teboul was born in 1967. After an internship at Magnum, he produced a series of photographs in

Central Europe, the Balkans and Russia. His first film, La Bund a 100 ans (1997), is dedicated to the memory of songs from the Bund, a Jewish labor movement. In 2001, he toured for three months. The following year, he filmed an intimate portrait of Simone Veil entitled Simone Veil, une histoire française, and in 2006, he directed the film Seine-Saint-Denis.
