All Is Grace

I agree with this... But I loved the film anyhow.
How can something so serious and even mysterious as the feeling of misfit which every single human being has already experienced make a terrific/delicious comedy like this? Only Woody Allen, really.
My favourite of all Woody Allen films (seen over half, and all the 'significant' ones - though I am sure there are gems among his unsung), and surely the best. As Dennis Grunes put it, "In gorgeous black and white, it is both his Sherlock Jr. and his Citizen Kane—a humanistic piece of such wit and dazzling invention that it accumulates into a metaphor for creative possibilities.". By the way, I love Woody.
I thought the 'white room sessions', where he first seems to actively realise how he is, with the help of Eudora, was pretty moving.
Woody Alen attacks his identity issues head on in this mockumentary. The use of pre-CGI blue screen effects is flawless and it is not only a great replication of 20s/30s news reel footage and mass media, but a great study of our own recollections of historical events and a simple endearing love story to boot. Oh Woody, you continue to impress me so.
It draws itself thin with a repetitious, one-joke structure, but Allen delightfully weaves a love story into his mockumentary that sweetens the experience. After all, it's a wonderously impressive exercise in film, both visually and narratively, and is coated with Allen's addictive punning.
I loved it. It is a fresh and really funny movie with a touch of social criticism. Woody uses the outworn forms of documentaries and spins them into a great mock. Great original music, lines and the radio interview with Eudora's mother killed me. Best Allen I've seen untill now. I'm sure Zemeckis saw this one before he made Forrest Gump;)
It blows my mind that Woody Allen did a movie with awesome pre-CGI special effects.
love this film - partly because when I first saw it (at age 9) I thought it was true :)
Just watched again, it is amazingly funny, lovely, and touching....I love it.
More humorous in concept than in execution, Zelig was able to garner only a few chuckles from me. However, I was amazed at how successfully it was pulled off on a technical level and at how ambitious the story was considering the narrative gimmick it used.
A hilarious pseudo-documentary by Woody Allen. Charm, absurdity and pure joy from start to finish.
