a silent and hollow shell of a girl with a penchant for cake

By Blasphemer on April 28, 2010

This disturbing film documents the day-to-day life of one pre-Surfers era Gibson Haynes, a crippled little midget lesbian boy who stood ten feet tall with a knife! Little Gibby searches for his father at the end of a long hallway, along the way finding his long lost sister in the cellar, a silent and hollow shell of a girl with a penchant for cake. Within her icy gaze young Gibby sees the Truth and begins to experience love for the first time, which gives rise to spontaneous and heartfelt soliloquizing. Rumor has it that James Fotopoulos was unknowingly dosed at a Butthole Surfers concert, which resulted in him experiencing a profound epiphany and accepting Gibby as his own personal savior. Evading the demons crying out in his mind, wading through a timeless night of oceanic despair, James finally managed to make it home from the show, walking in to find Eraserhead inexplicably playing on his television. Mesmerized, he sat down as the film began permeating his mind and spirit, Fotopoulus seamlessly drifting off into a terrifying dreamscape where he was gripped and fondled by intense visions – legless, hairless, shapeless visions of nuns – 69 different nuns speaking to James simultaneously in 69 different languages, visions that haunt him to this very day! To cope with this experience, to work through and process the trauma, James made this film, Zero. When it was finished, he never watched it or thought about it ever again – he had been cleansed. True, this film could use some editing, some trimming here and there, but in the end it is a love story, and love requires patience…
