Robinson Devor is a pretty heady guy. Certainly an independent in the U.S.A. Wish there were more like him.
The film puts itself on slippery slope as it tries (or inevitably ends up trying) to justify, decriminalize and even dignify these animal sex “offenders” (in quotation marks depending on where you’re coming from). At the end of the film, one cannot be fully convinced that the extreme love for an animal justifies the (sex) act, but feels for those harbouring deep dark secrets, taboos in the otherwise ‘normal’ world.
Extremely interesting subject matter, mixed with nice cinematography and soothing music. Could it go wrong? Even though I think this is worth watching, the storytelling falls apart at its edges, and sometimes you are so sedated by the beauty of the images, that you don`t even care. Maybe there is something wrong with me, but it took a long time before I understood who was telling the story, and which person was which, etc.
