SICK BOY "TAKEN AWAY IN A CAR"

A music video I made for Dublin band Sickboy. They needed a video in a rush for the release of their single and EP so I only had 1 day to shoot something and a couple of days with an editor to cut it. It was shot with little micro cameras/spy cams with composite video out to dv cameras. The little cameras were mounted onto the guitar heads and drumsticks etc so that I could get close up without making them feel self conscious. We also shot some cut aways with a dvx100. The song is about a death “taken away in a car”, so I thought a car crushing yard could reflect some of the songs content, where cars go to die..
It was a nice project for me, to shoot straight up lo-fi, gritty live action and turn it around in a couple of days without any effects or animation etc. Different for me anyway.
