10 Favorite Fuller Films

By: John Levy

The 10 Favorite, today at least. I’ll admit…..it slowly shifts around, gradually, like seasons. NOTE: MUBI does not have a listing for DEAD PIDGEON ON BEETHOVEN STREET, or else it would be on here. MUBI doesn’t have listings for A LOT of films. A LOT! Why?

By the way, I would love to see other some other peoples Fuller Favorites!

Awesome list Matt!!! I agree, very hard to pick only ten. Someone put the question to me and I realized my favorites change from time to time. Ultimately, they are all great. Great to see FIXED BAYONETS on your list. And BARON OF ARIZONA. I know! Fuller and Price! That is pure gold! And such an underrated film. I'm holding out hope Criterion puts RUN OF THE ARROW out soon and hopefully PARK ROW. They seem rather crucial films to still be left out in the cold. Here's hoping. Thanks again for the post and the list, it's great to see another person's draw to a body of work.

Choosing only ten is hard, but I'll give this a shot. In no particular order... 1. I Shot Jessie James 2. The Steel Helmet 3. The Baron Of Arizona (Fuller and Price!) 4. The Naked Kiss 5. Shock Corridor 6. The Big Red One 7. Fixed Bayonets 8. China Gate 9. White Dog 10. The Crimson Kimono I haven't seen 'Run Of The Arrow' either. It's not on DVD making it very tough to find.

It's been in there before, it'll be back, I assure you. This is where I'm at *lately* is all. One can't keep Robert Ryan out of the fold too long.

I know it's personal... but House of Bamboo should have been on it!
