To Scorpio's pleasure, I'll state again that I've seen all of his suggestions below except The Lady Eve, from which only Charade didn't fully meet my expectations, granted...I am not so keen on the cosmopolitan adventures as I used to but that's a subject to change. I clearly have to remove a few I've already seen and make room to add some rarities but I'll be back again, eventually.
I think you'd prefer Weekend a lot more over A Woman is A Woman or any of godard's 70s and 80s films if you haven't seen any of those. I think you'd like them. children of paradise, chinese book and black narcissus are my others i think you should watch asap
Fellow sympathizer here for I have a long, long list like this one too. But, can't resist picking out 10 "SEE THEM NOW" from your list :) Sans Soleil (yes apursansar); Underground; Weekend; A Man Escaped; a Short Film About Killing; By Brakhage: An Anthology, Vol One (at least, Dog Star Man right away); Mon Oncle; Man Bites Dog; The Killing of a Chinese Bookie; and finally L'Atalante.
I had expected something else when you wrote "to finish"... Knowing you, I thought you meant "to finish" as in "a happy ending"... lol.
I order you to watch The Lady Eve, The Red Shoes, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, Ordet, Charade and Come and See first before any of the ones here. If you don't like any of these that I highly recommend, you can disregard any kind of opinion that comes from my mouth from then on.
