50 Highlights Of My Journey Through Cinema Part One: (1975-1989)

I was born in ‘75, during the age of the blockbuster, just in time to see ’Star Wars’ in the theatre. Though many thumb their nose at this over-exposed, landmark achievement, it stands in my life and many in my generation as the keystone film. Ultimately, it entranced me so, that I fell absolutely in love with the experience I had the day I saw Star Wars. That experience is the cinema. Star Wars is my gateway into the world of cinema. It lead me straight to Kurosawa and everything else. So this list recounts all of the films which stand out for me as highlights stemming from that first time…Not necessarily my favorites (ex. Grease 2), one I even hate (ex. Batman), but highly influential for one reason or another. Most of these have a personal story of mine behind them as well. The years noted in the title refer to my life as opposed to release dates.
