666 Opinions of an Asshole: A Personal Canon

This is an attempt to create a personal canon of 666 films. Why 666? Because I have shit loads of favorite films, but I’m just not qualified to make a list of 1,000 films, which seems to be the magic number for prolific cinephiles. Hell, I’m not qualified to make a list of 10 films, but that’s okay since every human being is entitled to two things that stink—an asshole and an opinion.

“Opinions are like assholes. Everybody’s got one and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks.”

I realize the incredibly self-indulgent and self-aggrandizing nature of compiling such a list, so that explains the title. Feel free to take a whiff and tell me how shitty the list is.

NOTE: This list is currently under construction. I hope to have it essentially finished by this summer. But of course, as I will constantly be watching and discovering great films, it is in a sense under perpetual construction.

Nearly 1000. Will you be putting into order then, or too much work? My own canon list has been playing up with each addition in the right spot taking ages.

You went far away from 666! But it is a comprehensive and worthy list. I will try to check at least a couple hundred of those titles.
