Remarkable that you neglected "Bullets Over Broadway," one of his funniest films, which includes the best ensemble acting of any film he's directed. Have you not seen it? It is my favorite overall Woody Allen picture, not least due to the profound questions raised about artistic sacrifice and man's relation to his own art. An absolutely essential film in the Woody Allen canon.

    Finally manage to watch it. Good, but nowhere near his greatest work in my opinion. You rapidly get tired of his « not really new »reflections about art and I don't think this rank at the same level as Broadway Danny Roses, Love and Death or Bananas in tearms of laugh. In tearms of direction tough, it's definitely one of his great.

Zelig is poor. But wait till you see "Match Play" - then you will know what "dreadful" means. And yes, Love & Death is one of Woody's best, together with Manhattan. But how about his classics? Bananas? Sleeper? Wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
