American Noir (Chronological shots in the dark)
By: Flying Dutchman

This will now be a roughly chronological list. It gives me a chance to view the genre in relation to each other as I watch more additions to the list. I’m trying to keep some sort of control over what I consider a noir, there are some looser interpretations but I have left out many that are often termed noir by others. They all fall within the universally accepted cycle of Noir from 1941 to 1958 except The Letter (1940) but to my mind its certainly a fitting inclusion here.
