Best of 2007
By: ryan birch
This was the certainly the best year for film while I’ve been a dedicated movie nerd, really only since 2004 or 2005(I’m only twenty). Every year there’s usually about five films I love and another handful that I like. In 2007, the top 5 would probably be in my top ten of the decade, and three of them(the ones with the long titles) are some of my all time favorites, and the ones I simply liked were closer to two handfuls. There was just a wealth of exciting, original films and even the more standard hollywood fare, such as Superbad, Ratatouille, and The Bourne Ultimatum were immensely pleasurable.
The Best:
1.There Will Be Blood
2. No Country for Old Men
3. The Assassination of Jesse James
4. Zodiac
5. My Winnipeg
The Rest:
-Shotgun Stories
-Michael Clayton
-Margot at the Wedding
-Ratatouille
-Funny Games
-The Darjeeling Limited
-I’m Not There
-Paprika
-Encounters at the End of the World
-Eastern Promises
-Rescue Dawn
-The Savages
-Into the Wild
-The Bourne Ultimatum
-Hot Fuzz
-Superbad
Hmmm.. it is lacking in foreign films though. Anybody care to recommend some?
