    Lovely blog posts...though I like Rien que les heures a lot more than you seem to ;) In so far as it is read as a reconstitution of a place (both its visuality, and as you point out its materiality on screen and what I would prefer to call spirituality) you are right. But for me it functions as a comment on cinema too and as a sort of dissolution of categories (the 'pulp' story is quite stylized, resolutely genre fiction and quite opposed to the documentary aesthetic of the rest: so I don't read it as 'romantic' or ''social realist' as as expressing the city)...But you know films touch us in different ways... I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
