thanks for the suggestion! :)
Thats a good list. I'm not so sure about Mr Leigh's film but the Ben Rivers I would really like to see, along with his recent Two Years at Sea. If not seen already my film suggestion is Andrew Kotting's Louyre: This Our Still Life (2011).
nice list! surprised at the omission of Fish Tank and Red Road, both by Andrea Arnold. also, Lynne Ramsay's films Ratcatcher, Morvern Callar and We Need to Talk About Kevin would be appropriate. Then there are Pawel Pawlikowski's films Last Resort and My Summer of Love. didn't mean to diminish... cheers!
Very contemporary! A pity Sleep Furiously not here then, but beautiful images you've picked- that one from Archipelago reminds me of Tarkovsky's Sacrifice
these came to mind - SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET ('07) - Tim Burton... PIERREPOINT [aka THE LAST HANGMAN] ('05) - Adrian Shergold... i'm a fan of Timothy Spall, in case it isn't obvious.
many great films here... THIS IS ENGLAND, DEAD MAN'S SHOES and THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY are very captivating... thanks for the turn-on's too!
Some great films listed Unrelated, Better Things, and Sommes Town my favourites. Some suggestions Great Ectasy Of Robert Carmichael and Clay's much better film Soi Cowboy (British but set in Thailand), Brothers of the Head, Greek Pete, and Saxon. They might not be masterpieces but definately show the immense variety currently in British cinema.
Great list! I've been getting into British film as of late, great list to get a start on it.
