Well put, Scott Lyon. Countless films on this list remind me that I need to really crack down in my free time and others remind me that I have to revisit some classics. Particularly M, The Seventh Seal, and 2001. Clearly alot of hard work, kudos.

This list does what good lists should: just enough familiarity to pique our interest, just enough austerity to remind us the work is never done. Nice selection.

Some I have not seen (thankfully, as life would be completely useless if nothing on the horizon did exist) but anyone who includes Ozu, Rohmer, and a touch of Kaurismaki together must be doing something right...
