Dystopia & apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic films.
By: pickledelephant
Dystopia aka anti-utopia – often an futuristic society that has degraded into a repressive and controlled state, often under the guise of being utopian.
Apocalyptic fiction is a sub-genre of science fiction that is concerned with the end of civilization either through nuclear war, plague, or some other general disaster. Post-apocalyptic fiction is set in a world or civilization after such a disaster.
These are the ones I’d like to call – watchable (not really sure about Logan’s Runs, but hey, it’s a classic with people in funny outfits)!
*I cannot believe that Alex’s Proyas film “Spirits of the Air, Gremlins of the Clouds” isn’t on MUBI, anyhow it is an absolute must-see!! Go and watch it, now!!
PS.Needless to say (I’m gonna do it anyway), the list is unfinished. I’m updating it whenever I watch/remember/am reminded of a film, that fits into this category and suits my taste.
