You write in the favorites section that A Day In The Country is Rohmer, just to correct you it's Renoir, just a dumb mistake and you probably already knew it but you just haven't noticed that you wrote wrong.

    Ah yes, well spotted- i've done a list each on Rohmer and Renoir, among my favourite directors. Strange noone mentioned it before!

There's nice taste, good taste, great taste and then, there's YOUR taste. Superb list. I love this list. I loooooooooooove Casque d'Or but I hated Le Bonheur, his fancy-free demeanor vis-à-vis cheating actually hurt me. But it's a Varda film and she does not make a bad film ever.

    I love Casque d'Or too. It should be famous worldwide cos it's pretty well perfect. The wife's pain in Le Bonheur is all the more poignant for me due to its being hidden by his "fancy free" spirit and in contrast to the earlier bonheur. The final part may seem callous, overly relaxed or surprising and thought-provoking.
