@Seth: I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't respond to this being that it's over 1 year later, but here goes: As far as I can recall I was utterly exhausted the day I responded, so the LAST thing I probably should have been doing was use a computer. What I meant to say was "unless you can CONVINCE me otherwise..." vs. making it appear that I believed in some sort of absurd formula in which you plug in any given film and get an absolute, unquestionable result! :P I'll take your word for it and give Speed Racer a chance when I have spare time... (I do see where you're coming from with that bit about film critics also.)

No. Totally serious. Speed Racer is as great as artistic achievements come. I can't "prove you otherwise." Just see the film. And by whose standards is it the lowest point in their career? The critics'? The sooner we all start ignoring them the better.

@Seth: Is that sarcasm? I honestly can't tell. From what I've gathered (for all intents and purposes), Speed Racer is THE lowest point in the Wachowski bros. careers, unless you'd like to prove me otherwise. (I'm not too familiar with their work outside of the original Matrix.)
