Another great list Kenji. May I suggest Mosquito Coast as a possible addition?

I wouldn't have thought of Mosquito Coast, it's quite a while since i saw it- did it have nuclear/apocalyptic sense or more a bitterness towards the state of US and the world?

From what I remember, and now a quick check of wikipedia confirms, it was referencing the fear of nuclear war directly, in addition to the general bitterness, and there was even references to Japan and the bombs Fat Man and Little Boy via the ice machine. It's similar to I Live in Fear basically.

I just watched "Silence has no Wings" (http://mubi.com/films/35809). One section of the film takes place in Hiroshima and the voice over centers around the atomic bomb and its physiological and psychological effects on the inhabitants of the city.
