THX 1138 & BLADE RUNNER are my picks of the best - along with BRAZIL. Hmmm... and what about SOYLENT GREEN? There's an ok film with Harry Belafonte, (a last man on Earth scenario) - but I can't remember the title. I wouldn't recommend THE POSTMAN or ON THE BEACH - both are absolutely fucking terrible!! I'm always on the lookout for worthwhile post-apocalyptic films, so if there are more lists anywhere I'd appreciate a pointer in that direction.

Hey, if you haven't seen Haneke's "Time of the Wolf":http://mubi.com/films/1391 I'd recommend it. It's a little quieter than a lot of PA-themed movies, but pretty disturbing.
