Great Years in Cinema History: 1975

By: Johnny DuBiel

I submit to you 1975 as a candidate for greatest year in cinematic history. Here are my rankings for the best of that year. This includes films that, according to The Auteurs, were released in 1975.
Not available on the site are the following: ‘The Man Who Would Be King’, ‘Lisztomania’, ‘Shampoo’, ‘Spermula’, ‘Yakuza’, ‘Cousin, Cousine’, ‘Hard Times’

I tried to watch the Yakuza when I was temporarily obsessed with Schrader's screenplays, I have still yet to see it.

Wow, what a year! Dersu, Picnic, Condor, Passenger, Barry, Adele and THE MIRROR!

a definite oversight. One of my favorites. I've seen it listed as 1976 (possibly on my dvd copy) in the past, which is why it wasn't here. I definitely will edit.
