Hong Kong Cinema
By: daniel
Hong Kong is an odd specimen in terms of culture. It is predominantly Chinese, but it is obviously influenced by Western culture because of the British occupation it has been with for over one hundred years. The films that are compiled in this list shows that influence one way or another.
In Wong Kar Wai’s Days of Being Wild there’s displacement (Occupancy) and the search for one’s mother (China).
Once Upon a Time In China is about unity and not losing identity.
