Humanity in displacement and (post)colonialism
By: Veritas Verte
In the vast majority of the world, individuals find themselves in lives touched by colonialism or forced displacement (from forced migration for slavery to exile from situations of genocide or extreme poverty). This (growing) list hopes to collect stories told from the perspective of the displaced. The first 18 are directed by individuals who come from—or are descendants of—the populations represented on the screen. Any suggestions for more are welcome! The rest are stories told by “sympathetic” others, and worth a look.
