Jimmy's canon.

While assembling this canon, I realized how little I’ve seen, especially from the 1930s/1940s and in Asia/Africa. I really first ‘pursued’ 2000’s cinema, so most of my favorites come from the past 10 years or so.

I wouldn't worry about your film knowledge, if you mean how many films you've seen. The way I see it, you could watch nothing but these same films you've listed over and over again until you truly understand what it is they are doing and are not doing, for the next ten years and you would probably gain more real knowledge about the art than those who are killing themselves to watch 10 films a day so they can keep up with some over-admired cinephile.

    Thanks Mike! I completely agree with you on this one. I want to see more movies of course but not just so I can say I've seen them.
