LGBT Cinema

By: Black Irish

Haven’t seen a great deal of LGBT-themed films, but hoping to correct this as much as possible. Trying to keep a variety of mainstream, independent, narrative, experimental, old, new, features, shorts, documentaries, fictions, and so on as long as they sound interesting in some regard. Not meant to be a catalogue of the movement of queer cinema or of the ‘best’ films but of the LGBT films that I’ve liked in the list proper [alphabetized for the time being] and the ones which I wish to see, here in the information box, below.

Feel free to suggest films, in the event that I may have overlooked some. Also whether any harder to find films, new or old, have been made available on DVD or online.

Actually, I did include Time to Leave [but under the French title,] as well as Sitcom. However, I'm surprised to have forgotten the others you listed [though my memory tends to have blind spots,] thanks for reminding me. :) Should add some of his short films as well.

Anfrew Haigh´s "Weekend" has been amazing. The one I´m currently most looking forward to is Ira Sachs´ "Keep the Lights On".

I'm eagerly awaiting the DVD release in order to see it again. Really liked it the first time and think I'll appreciate it even further now that it's had a long time to sink in. Sachs' film is one of my most anticipated of the year at the moment [the trailer makes a surprising impact for being under a minute.] Thanks for fanning the list, btw.
