Same thing Kenji said, lol! Robert Guédiguian is awesome. Love his working class films. It's probably for the same reason that I like Beineix, who you've mentioned explicitly.

I love Marseilles and have been there three times!! You should put some photos of the city on the list!! Angela Schanelec's film Marseille, A Place de Coeur,the Taxi films, Jacques Deray's Borsalino and Melville's Army of Shadows, could be added to the list:)
