My Fifty+ Favorite Films

Obviously these things are ever-changing, we see new films, catch up on old ones, we grow up — I mean once upon a time Star Wars was my favorite movie.

So as of right now, today, these are my favorite films. All the Godfathers count as one film. And I need to get around to arranging them (along with my five decade lists), but the Top Ten (Twelve) are set in stone.

It’s interesting, sometimes we just need a reminder about what we thought of film for us to remember it’s greatness. We talk about films and talk about films and some always come up, but some slip through the cracks until we realize that we have actually been talking about them all along.

An adjustment has started.

Interesting that you have "The Ice Storm" at #2. Ang Lee is a favorite director. I need to watch "Medium Cool" again--haven't seen it in over 25 years. Overall a fun list. As I have said before, it's always fun to see where one's tastes converge and veer away from someone else.

The Ice Storm is an incredibly great, and, I think, incredibly underrated movie. Glad to see it on your list. :) (And there are a lot of other greats on here, too, like LA Confidential, Goodfellas, etc.). Savvy
