These films and their directors may hardly be household names even on the arthouse circuit, but these filmmakers have provided some memorable cinematic experiences and deserve their place in the limelight. Kurosawa, Fellini and Bergman they are not but I feel it is refreshing to see a list without some of the usual suspects. Many of these films I have not had the chance to see due to availbility issues and time constrains. During this year I will try and see as many of these films and further explore the directors work and create several sub-lists exploring the filmmakers style and approach to cinema.
