The choice of "Pari" is based on the protagonist's religious obsession that opens subconscious doors for her and leads to the encounters with the matyr's ghost. You're right that more than one Lynch would qualify, and I will add his "Lost Highway". Jarmusch's "Dead Man" is another one I will add to the list.
