Original film scores.

By: Hideous Bitch Princess

This list is comprised of a wide, eclectic variety of wonderful sounds which were created specifically for celebrated motion pictures, many of which are commonly overlooked by critics / audiences. There are numerous styles included such as traditional orchestral / symphonic composition, avant-garde tinged structured improvisation, smooth jazz, electronic ambient, as well as a diverse selection of international music. The films also vary in classification, ranging from commercial successes to off the beaten path art house cinema, all whose atmosphere was greatly contributed to by these scores. I hope you find something to enjoy that you were previously unfamiliar with! – Roger

Great list. Though I would have picked barbet schoeder's 'more' over requiem for a dream.

Pretty interesting list with a lot of great entries. Have you heard the Abel Korzeniowski score for A Single Man? Colin Firth claims it has shaped him as an actor. It's gotta be one of the heaviest, emotional scores I've ever heard.

I feel like Clint Mansell's score for The Fountain deserves a place on here, as well as Robin Guthrie & Harold Budd's work for Mysterious Skin.
