Thanks for the support, Sunrise. Let's see, I don't think Mălăele and Mihăileanu quite belong here. Good call on Crişan's short. I believe de Raaf is from the Netherlands but 'Felicia' was co-directed by Răzvan Rădulescu and appears to be at least partly Romanian so I've added it. 'Hooked', 'Medal of Honor' and 'Portrait of the Fighter As a Young Man' have also been added. Netzer's 'Maria' however doesn't appear to be in the database. 'Tales from the Golden Age' is already on the list. I'll further update this list shortly, but thanks again for your help.

NIKI SI FLO (2003) would be my pick for the best of the new Romanian cinema (though I'm dying to see more from Corneliu Porumboiu, starting with POLICE, ADJECTIVE).

Thanks, Gaviero. I've limited this to the "new wave" films but anything by Pintilie is certainly important. He's more or less the godfather of the current generation of directors. I'm also a fan of his earlier films such as "The Oak" and "Reconstruction". I absolutely love "Police Adjective". It's certainly among the very best new wave films I've seen. I hope you get to see it soon.
