ROMANIAN POLL (1995): WORLD'S TOP 100 FILMS

The Gold Rush

The result of a poll of approx 50 Romanian cinephiles and critics, which i was sent from Bucharest over a decade ago. Major silent classics fare pretty well. They certainly like Italian cinema, and good to find quite a few Eastern European films. Reconstruction and Sequences were the only ones from Romania, the former appeared in the Directors Cup here. But oh dear, a poor Japanese showing. Still, i hope it’s of interest. Ace of Spades not on mubi.
