Sion Sono is one of the most exciting, innovative, and brutally honest filmmakers I have come across in the past few years. His ability to balance and mix genres, styles, and techniques is both baffling and ultimately inspiring to me. If you haven’t given yourself the opportunity to experience his hyperactive in-your-face-films you’re really depriving yourself of emotionally engaging work that is as thought provoking as it is shocking.
