TALES ANCIENT & MODERN OF MOST GALLANT & CHIVALROUS KNIGHTS

By: Kenji

The heroic noble El Cid with his fair lady Chimene. My favourite film when i was 13, supplanting The Great Escape.
-

A bow-shot from her bower-eaves,
He rode between the barley-sheaves,
The sun came dazzling thro’ the leaves,
And flamed upon the brazen greaves
Of bold Sir Lancelot.
A red-cross knight for ever kneel’d
To a lady in his shield,
That sparkled on the yellow field,
Beside remote Shalott.

(Tennyson- from The Lady of Shalott)

Sleeping Betty (Prince Charles as the knight!)

The chivalrous chevalier of the chateau of Chenonceau
Chose cherries for the chambermaid who
Challenged the chastity of the chaplain of Chartres

Sleeping Betty is fun- that's Prince Charles as the knight in the picture!

Another fascinating list, Kenji. And, yes, Danny Rose is surely the most heroic character played by Woody Allen. This movie has one of my all-time favorite shots. Farrow comes out of the shower with her hair wrapped in a towel and, after not being able to see her face for about an hour, there it is, amazingly beautiful. I admire Allen for repeating this effect in a humorous context in Radio Days.
