Ten of Woody Allen's Favorite Films
By: Richard Hardy
To accompany Woody Allen’s first public Q&A in Britain – at London’s National Film Theatre – in late September 2001, in conjunction with the premiere of The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, the NFT also invited him to select some of his favorite films for them to show. He mentioned in the Q&A that the NFT had “ask[ed] for suggestions of some favorite films of mine to play here,” and the list he gave them had included Citizen Kane and 2001: A Space Odyssey in addition to the below; so while this list of ten is not complete, it does represent at least some of his all-time favorites.
