After discovering and falling in love with Jan Svankmajer’s Dimensions of Dialogue and the Quay brothers’ Street of Crocodiles, I found out they’re both among what Terry Gilliam considers the best animation films of all time. Since his list introduced me to a number of films I otherwise wouldn’t have found out about so easily, I figured this list could serve that same purpose for other people on this site.
