That’s the Signpost up ahead – Your next stop, the Twilight Zone!

By: Acerk21

The Twilight Zone’s most lasting contribution to Hollywood is that it conditioned mass audiences, who were otherwise unfamiliar with stories set in a fantastical reality, to accept twist endings and stories that questioned reality itself. The continuing effect “The Zone” has had on audiences and filmmakers alike is still strongly felt today.

Here are a list of films where the story genuinely plays like a TWILIGHT ZONE episode. These movies would be right at home in Rod Serling’s fifth dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind!

Peter Ibbetson
A couple torn apart continues their illicit romance in their dreams.

Seconds
With the help of an enigmatic corporation, a miserable, middle-aged man fakes his own death, undergoes physical reconstruction surgery and starts life anew. However, he finds that the life he had hoped for isn’t quite what he expected.

It Happened Tomorrow
A newspaper editor writes headlines that predict the future.

Three Strangers
Three Strangers, each with a serious problem in their lives, share a sweepstakes ticket which they wished upon together before a Chinese idol.

Sorry, Wrong Number
While on the telephone, an invalid woman overhears what she thinks is a plot to murder her.

I’ll Never Forget You (1951)
A scientist obsessed with the past transports himself back in time to 18th-century London, where he falls in love with a beautiful young woman.

Brigadoon
Two Americans on a hunting trip in Scotland become lost. They encounter a small village, not on the map, called Brigadoon, in which people harbor a mysterious secret, and behave as if they were still living two hundred years in the past.

Somewhere in Time
A Chicago playwright uses self-hypnosis to find the actress whose vintage portrait hangs in a grand hotel.

The Man From Earth
At an impromptu goodbye party, a retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues that he is an immortal who has walked the earth for 14,000 years.

Cube
7 complete strangers of widely varying personality characteristics are involuntarily placed in an endless kafkaesque maze containing deadly traps.

“You’re travelling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That’s the signpost up ahead – your next stop, the Twilight Zone!”

I meant to include "The Enchanted Cottage" but it hasn't been added to the database yet. Haven't seen "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" or "The Man Who Fell to Earth" yet, but I will add the others you mentioned. Thanks!
