http://mubi.com/films/the-mallet l think this man deserves to be more known (even in serbia not so many people know his work...retrospective of his short docs visited 6 people, nice...and his films can't be found nowhere on web, l think, accept this one) so it'd be nice to see him on this your list...anyway, if you haven't seen in and if you're interested you can find it on kg (bec assholes removed it from yt bec of copy-right shits)
Found tons of films I did not know about. Thanks a ton! One significant omission is The Medusa Raft by Karpo Godina. It also made me think of Makavejev's Unprotected Innocence since it deals with the history of Balkan cinema.
i will be adding plenty from ex-Yugoslavia, from all countries. A map of the Balkans is also available. Thanks Joshua for the load of recommendations but I restricted this list to the Balkan region, compiled by the countries in the intro above, not the whole deal of Eastern and South Eastern European cinema. ;)

Can I suggest The Peach Thief by Vulo Radev and The Attached Balloon by Binka Zheliazkova from Bulgaria? Great list.
I’ll definitely try and learn how to post pictures Nohea as soon as I can. In the meantime, I hope i can add more films to a relatively weak list!
