A., This is an intriguing list. When I was growing up, people seemed to be always telling me that a man can never understand a woman. As I've gotten older, I've come to think that perhaps no one can really understand any other person. Everyone has, I believe, an inner dimension totally unseen by others, and sometimes even unknown to oneself. But, as these fine films show, we can try and sometimes maybe by some miracle of art, we can succeed. That said, I'd be quite interested if some of the female fans of the list were to comment on some, or all, of your specific choices. Good work. Thanks, Bob

Ah, Picnic at Hanging Rock tends be a love it or hate it kind of movie. I personally think its fantastic.
